Can I design a solar powered lantern using recycled materials?

Year: 2023 - Ongoing

This project was spurred into existence by a desire to participate in an annual autumnal solstice tradition - Fremont’s Luminata parade. The lanterns shown here are assembled using laser cut recycled cardboard (from JAS Design Build’s routine lighting purchases) and repurposed architectural drawings (from our day-to-day work). The light fixture is a solar-powered bulb designed for use in chicken coops. Additional exploration is underway.
